Manchester City's major doubt for tonight's trip to Aston Villa revolves around Jeremy Doku.

The Belgian winger was substituted early in the second half of the draw with Tottenham and was spotted limping while exiting the pitch.

"We have training this afternoon," Pep Guardiola said on Tuesday ahead of making a call on Doku. "I will talk with the doctors and see after."

Injury doubts over Doku come at a bad time for City, who are without left-wing competitor Jack Grealish ahead of the trip to Villa Park.

The England winger, along with Rodri, is suspended for Wednesday night having picked up his fifth yellow card of the Premier League campaign.

Mateo Kovacic is expected to return to the starting line-up to replace Rodri, with Matheus Nunes not expected to recover from a muscle injury in time and Kalvin Phillips unfancied by Guardiola. Rico Lewis and John Stones are other options to reinforce either City's defence or midfield.

Stones being named in the XI would not be a surprise given his return from a recent injury via the substitutes' bench, with Nathan Ake also vying to start after the defending champions shipped ten goals in their last four games.

Predicted Man City XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol; Silva, Kovacic; Foden, Alvarez, Doku; Haaland
